Mr. Kushvider Vohra, Former Chairman, Central Water Commission and Ex-Officio Secretary to Government of India isB.Tech. Civil Engineering, L.L.B and M.A in Public Administration.
His major work areas are:
Water Resources
Planning& Projects: Policy formulation, aspects related to basin level planning, irrigation planning, interstate issues related to water, appraisal/approval of irrigation / multipurpose projects, implementation of projects by States and their funding, water use efficiency, performance of irrigation projects, environmental related aspects, research and development related studies, etc.
River Management: Data collection, disaster Management, flood forecasting, flood management, river conservation, river morphology, glacier lake outburst flood, river water quality, etc.
Design & Research: Design of Irrigation / Hydropower projects and associated structures, formulation of Bureau of Indian Standards on various aspects of water resources, GLOF modeling, hydrological studies, dam safety issues, earthquake parameters, risk assessment of dams, special studies, etc.

Dr. Ravinder Kaur., Principal Scientist, Water Technology Centre, Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India is a doctorate (Gold Medalist & Jawaharlal Nehru Awardee) in Agricultural Physics with specialization in Soil Physics & Soil – Water
Conservation, from IARI. She is a trained executive from London Business School, UK and has an extensive research management experience as Project Director, Water Technology Centre (WTC) and Director, IARI.
Her scientific contributions primarily focus on the development of innovative land-water resource monitoring and managing technologies. These nationally and internationally validated techniques
resulted in several indigenous Environmental Impact Assessment tools and Decision Support Systems (such as IMPASSE©, USAR©, ReSourCeS© and DROP) for facilitating accurate impact assessment of varied land-water management practices and proposing alternative adaptation strategies for managing chemically/ physically degraded agricultural lands and waters.
