He is the Head of G&IDRR Division, National Institute for Disaster Management, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. He is a Ph.D. in Economics and has studied Gender & Development in IDS, Sussex, UK and received professional training in Disaster Risk Management from Israel backed with exposure at the World Bank and SAARC. He has earlier worked with the federal and various State governments in different positions. He has also worked with the World Bank, Bilateral and UN agencies on capacity development, disaster management, sustainable recovery, and reconstruction and mitigation projects.
